Amara Sanctuary Resort Sentosa – Why hello there! And here it is, my birthday celebration entry! Luckily for me, my birthday fell on a Saturday and I had a birthday off on Friday so it meant I had a longggg weekend to celebrate my happy day. We didn’t go overseas though because that might mean we would come back only on a weekday and we couldn’t afford to leave the office for such a long time (dedicated bosses we are!)
A week before my birthday, I already discovered Roy was bringing me for a staycation to Amara Sanctuary Resort Sentosa because he printed some related documents in the office and I ALSO printed some stuff. So I went to take all the printed papers from the paper and realised there was a paper with Roy’s confirmation of booking of Amara Sanctuary Resort. HAHAHAH. Imagine his face when I passed him the paper. Epic! Anyway, I was thinking of going for that place as well because I’ve seen it online and it’s a gorgeous place. Believe me, it really is!
Time to check in! Our room was under “Larkhill Terrace”, which is a row of rooms by itself with a private pool shared only between the people staying within that terrace. Also, since I had already did my research previously, I already knew the rough layout of the room that Roy booked. When we first went in, there was a huge king size bed.
A plate of fresh fruits was served.
Nope nope, that was not all. Open the first door and there will be a shower room on your left, and toilet cubicle on the right.
Walk through that door and you’ll see a semi-outdoor bath tube with a big sun lounge fit for two. There are also separate basins on both the left and right, one for Roy and one for me. I took the left one by instinct and quickly marked that area as my territory with my toiletries haha.
And you start to wonder, where is the pool? Time for the big reveal! Slide the white doors open and you’ll be greeted by a partially private infinity pool right outside your room. Nice or not!!!!
Although I prefer a fully private pool, this pool was good enough since 1) it was reserved for guests of the Larkhill Terrace 2) nobody used the pool. Most of the time, there weren’t much people hanging around the pool, probably one one or two haha.
My legs so short!
In the night, we drove to Harbourfront Centre to eat Pizza Hut. I love pizzas and I love Pizza Hut. & was having a major craving for it so Roy brought me there hehe.
Time for bubble bath after a satisfying dinner!
The next morning (my actual birthday on the 28th), we woke up to this:
If only I can wake up to this everyday.
Then it was time for us to check out. 🙁
My Verdict: Our short stay at Amara Sanctuary Resort Sentosa was a lovely one. Our room was in good condition, including the bed, the bath facilities, etc. The only down part was that we called the reception repeatedly regarding the hotel wifi but nobody came down to help us. When somebody finally came, we were told that there is no free wifi available in the rooms. But that’s okay ‘cos I had my phone. And the most important part of the staycation was to get away from our normal lives. Would love to go there again!
We stopped by Marina Square to try out the popular European frozen yogurt store, LLAOLLAO, that has arrived in Singapore! Previously, we tried it once in Madrid, Spain, during our Eurotrip in June 2013 and fell in love with it ever since. Back in Madrid, we saw many people chilling out in town with cups of LLAOLLAO and we were wondering what it was. Gosh, it’s soooo much better and flavourful (naturally) than all the frozen yogurt I’ve tried in Singapore.
We shared a cup of sanum (3 choices of fruits, 2 cereal toppings, 1 chocolate sauce + lots of frozen yogurt). CAN YOU SAY TASTYYYYYY!! Love love love it. Love it the entire time I was in the store. Please drop by this store if you’re around Marina Square ‘cos I don’t think it’s gaining enough recognition it should be and I DON’T WANT IT TO CLOSE DOWN. Because if it does, I can only eat it in Europe. 🙁
I apologise for my red and swollen nose here because I was sick throughout that week and was coughing really badly while taking this photo. Haha. Sick already still wanted to eat my Llao Llao.
Llao Llao is located at Marina Square: #B1-04. Go try it!!
After having Llao Llao, we went out for brunch at a cafe! Part 2 will be up some time this week. 😉 Stay tuned!
