    Contact Lens that I wear.

Well I’ve been receiving many questions online and in real life about the contact lenses that I wear. And here it is!!!!! I wear two types of contact lenses, cosmetic lenses and prescription lenses.

For cosmetic lenses, I always wear Freshlook Colorblends – I swear by it!

My favourite colours from this series are Grey and Pure Hazel! They make my eyes more attractive and the colours are quite natural. In fact, some people who met me in real life didn’t even know I was wearing coloured lenses until I told them. Once, an optician didn’t know I was wearing cosmetic lenses until I had to remove them in order to get my eyesight checked. So far, the colours I’ve tried in Freshlook Colorblends series are Grey, Pure Hazel, Sterling Grey, Honey and Brown. I haven’t tried more bold colours like Blue or Green. Don’t want to turn out looking like some anime character but no offence to people who love wearing these colours! Just don’t think they will suit me well.

This is me wearing Pure Hazel:

And this is me in Grey:

I love these two colours the most!:D

I have also tried Freshkon contact lenses but I can’t really remember which colours I wore. If I don’t remember wrongly, the colours I wore are Mesmeric Black and Magnetic Grey from the Alluring Eyes series.

Unfortunately, I don’t have any clear pictures of me wearing them because the last time I wore them was last September. I will post them up if I do wear them. 🙂

For prescription lenses, I usually wear CIBA VISION Silicon Hydrogel Lenses because they are more permeable and allow more oxygen to my eyes. Yes my eyes can breathe if that’s what it’s supposed to mean.

The diameter of the lenses are slightly bigger than normal prescription lenses. (These are clear lenses) I used to wear Bausch & Lomb but for some reason my eyes didn’t like them anymore, they got red easily when I wore them so I was recommended by the optometrist to switch to CIBA VISION. I’ve also tried ACUVUE, yes they are so comfortable, they are barely there! But when it comes to removing the contact lenses, I always have trouble removing ACUVUE lenses because they are too thin. If you have sensitive eyes that are easily irritated and turn red even when you have only worn your lenses for less than 6 hours, then I suggest you try Silicon Hydrogel Contact Lenses.

This is me without any contacts with sleepy eyes and blur vision:

And this is me in specs!

Don’t like the shadows casted on my face but oh well, all these photos were taken in low light condition I shouldn’t be fussy.

Yes I finally finished this contact lens post and am feeling extremely accomplished because I’ve procrastinated for far too long! I’m sorry to those who have been waiting – it is finally here and I hope you find it helpful! 🙂 By the way…

FRESHLOOK COSMETIC LENSES  (Colorblends) ARE RETAILING NOW AT 2 FOR $44, AND 4 AT $88! I just got 4 pairs at one go because it is quite expensive to purchase them when they are not on sale. Usually they retail at 1 pair for $42 at the optical shop near my house. You can get Freshlook Cosmetic Lenses from most optical shops. Sometimes I get mine from neighbourhood shops and sometimes at the malls.

Get them now to have that extra sparkle in your eyes!

Hi Ralin! Do you mean my degree or the brand of my specs? My degree is -3.75 and -3.5 with astigmatism of less than 50. So usually for cosmetic lenses, I don’t wear with astig. The brand of my specs is Blumarine, got it from Spectacle Hut. This is an oldddd post. Now, I switch between Freshlook Colourblends and FreshKon Alluring Eyes! You can read my Freshkon post for that 🙂

thanks for the reply, it was really very helpful because mine is only -0.50 on the left and -1.50 on the right with -0.50 for astigmatism. In Every shop I go always, they always tell me to get toric lenses because I have astigmatism which I kind of disagree with because I heard from some people that it is OK to disregard the astig since it is only -0.50 when buying contacts. So no headaches at all? If so then it might be ok for me to buy the contact lenses that only have the degree to correct my myopia.

They always tell me that but some shops also say it shouldn’t be a problem. And it has never been a problem for me!! I’ve been wearing cosmetic lenses for 2 years already and I have never experienced any headache at all dear:) Toric contacts are super ex! I only buy them when I need to.

The design is really quite attractive with a black circle around it and no fancy pattern whatsoever. It suits you mate.

    Hi dear,

Would appreciate if you could provide some opinions for first timer in colour contact lenses?

    I was looking at

    (1)Freshlook sterling grey/ grey and
    (2) Freshkon magnetic grey?

Which one of this are more comfortable and having more enlargement effect based on your experience (for daily wear?)

How about Mia Care Brown, are they more comfortable as claimed?

Thanks if you provide your opinion/ experiences.

    Thanks! 🙂

      Hi Andrea,

Freshlook Coloured contacts is more comfortable for sure as compared to Freshkon Coloured lenses. However, Freshlook is definitely pricier than Freshkon. So it depends on your budget as well. 🙂

I like Freshkon Iris enlarging lenses though.

      Hope this helps! xx

      Hi Tricia,

I used to purchase my contact lenses at Toa Payoh Optical 88 but that outlet has since closed down. I don’t wear contact lenses anymore now because I got lasik done (you can read more here:

If you’re looking to get contact lenses, you can check out the one at Causeway Point Basement 1, there is 1 that is just right in front of the escalator. They do have some good promotions sometimes! 🙂
