What’s up guys! How was your weekend? As usual, I had a busy weekend but it was really enjoyable 🙂
If you don’t have me on Facebook or any other social media platforms, here’s a surprise for you:
My pink dip-dyed hair! I’ve been wanting to do something different to my hair for the longest time but had no guts. One day I just decided to have pink hair since I have a friend who sells hair dye and even has her own YouTube makeup channel. (wow!) My friend, Andrea, set up a YouTube page with her other friend, Marie, a few months ago. They do videos of makeup and hair dyeing HOMG they make me feel like a noob in makeup. P/s: Marie even has a diploma in makeup how cool is that!
The first time I met Andrea, all I did was to notice to makeup and hair. Honestly, it is not hard to spot her on the streets ‘cos she probably is the only person around with rainbow hair! Okay not like she has 7 colours on her head but her hair colour is ever-changing. It can be purple this week, blue the next week and then green the next time I see her!
After much contemplation, I finally decided to have pink hair simply because I live for myself and I want to be happy. And I know if I give this chance a miss, I’m gonna be pretty sad. So last Saturday I went over to Andrea’s house for my hair dying! I was quite nervous as I didn’t know how it was gonna turn out. I didn’t even show Andrea any pictures for her to follow. I also met Marie for the first time, she’s really nice and crazy! She has green hair now by the way, you can view it below.
Marie applied Sugarpill eyeshadow on me. It was my first time with eyeshadow and I wasn’t quite used to it.
First time with eyeshadow of course have to camwhore right!
From left: Andrea, Marie and me 🙂 I felt so plain beside them because my hair was all black and dull 🙁
First, Andrea made me wear a cape made outta black garbage bag lolol.
Yep that is me in my garbage bag cape.
And then she bleached the ends of my hair.
My dry as hay hair.
Andrea explaining the bleaching agent she was gonna use on my hair.
Oh my stubborn hair. We left the bleach on for an hour or so and my hair wasn’t completely bleached. In fact it was golden brown!
Yep it’s in the genes, I have extremely black hair there were hairstylists and friends who asked if I dyed my hair black. Haha.
After bleaching, it was time to apply the dye! I used Manic Panic Wildfire and Andrea was afraid the colour wouldn’t show on my hair so she mixed a bit of Special Effects Candy Apple Red.
While waiting for the dye to set, we walked over to Udders and had a few scoops of ice cream. My hair was red and Roy and Andrea said I looked like I had meat on my hair!
I had Hazel’s Nuts and Snickers Mars Honeycomb Vanilla :> We sat there and chit chatted for an hour before heading back to wash off the hair dye.
While washing my hair, I expected the water to be stained in pink or something but noooo the water was completely clear! Even my hands weren’t stained. Which probably means the dye was fully absorbed into my hair?
The colour turned out to be Cherry Pink and I love it! It looks like Fiery Red in photos but it looks more of cherry pink in real life.
Filming the end product: Andrea talking while I remained awkward in the video hahaa.
Dollipink on the top left!
Poison Plum on the bottom right
My hair dye was something simiar to this, Hot Hot Pink. Omg I wished I had this instead because it glows under UV Light! How cool is that! I’ll be rocking the clubs haha 😀
If you’re interested in getting yourself some hair dye and doing your own dip-dyeing, head over to:
Thank you Andrea and Marie for the pretty dip-dyeing! You guys are awesome!^^
I’ll post up the video when it’s out guys! If you are thinking of dip-dying your hair, you totally should! That is if your school or workplace permits. Thankfully I didn’t receive any violent responses today at work 🙂 I’m so lucky!
