I love my hair! ICON Shunji Matsuo by Lily Xu Far East Plaza

So it was time for me to get some pampering treatment for my hair again at ICON Shunji Matsuo by Lily Xu at Far East Plaza. This time, I went for a perm and changed my hair colour!

Been wanting to get a perm for quite some time now. I’ve always loved permed hair because my natural hair is way too straight and flat. Plus I’ve got big ears, so I need permed, wavy and messy hair to cover my ears.

And it was finally time to perm my hair since the previous chemical treatment and my hair stylist, Simon, deemed my hair long enough and ready to be permed. Yay!

My flat and boring straight hair.

Simon had to cut my hair to ensure that it’s of the right shape before perming.shunjimatsuo-3

My hair was wayyy too straight!

Got my hair washed before starting the treatment.

First they had to apply a pre-treatment cream to prepare and protect my hair from the perming agent and heat. This is so that the hair does not get too damaged from all the chemical works. A definite necessity!

The ice cream sticks were there to prevent the rubber bands from forming marks on my hair.

After which they started to curl and twist my hair into the rollers. Here comes the heat! Okay actually I wasn’t affected much by the heat since it wasn’t the revolving kind around my entire head.

When the heating was done, we waited for my hair to cool before they applied a neutraliser onto my hair. And after a hair wash…

    My soft curls!

TADA!!! FRESHLY PERMED CHIO HAIR! Usually I was sit there for like 3-5 hours to get my hair done but time always passes by very quickly because I get to talk to my hair stylist or his assistant. And his assistant, Derrick, always helps me to buy my favourite Ice Cream Milk Tea and Shih Lin Chicken! Best assistant ever!!!

After the perm, I went back a few weeks later to colour my hair. Simon chose the colour for me and I really like that colour although I was a bit worried the colour may be too light for me. But it turned out quite well! It’s not a lot of difference from the previous hair colour, but it’s definitely more obvious. I think it’s about 1-2 shades lighter than my previous colour.

Went to the Benefit event after doing my hair and many people commented about my nice hair HEHEHE. So flattered!

Really gotta thank Shunji Matsuo for this. I’ve been gaining lots and lots of praises about my hair ever since I started visiting Shunji Matsuo. Thank you for always giving me nice hair and ensuring I leave the salon full of confidence with my gorgeous tresses! :’)
