On the second day of our Tioman trip, we booked a snorkeling trip to visit 3 main places: Coral Island, Malang Rocks and Renggis Island. We booked it through the activities centre of our hotel, Berjaya Tioman Resort.

**Scroll down to the end of the blogpost to watch our snorkelling video in the clear waters!!**
In the morning, we reported at our hotel main lobby where we took a short bus trip out to the jetty.
This is Renggis Island, which is very near our hotel but was our last stop. You will get to see more photos at the later part of the post.
We had to select our life vests. For girls, I recommend choosing the smaller ones.
There was a small briefing held about ensuring our own safety when in the waters. We had to be wary about jelly fishes and sea urchins mainly.
And our boat set sail out into the sea!
Our first stop was at Coral Island where the sandy beach was pristine white.
Look at the waters! So clear and blue.
Our second stop was stop to Malang Rocks. The waves were very strong and none of us girls could snorkel properly.
We also had to be careful crashing into the rocks. The waters here were darker. I think if the waves were kinder to us, this would be the perfect spot for snorkelling.
Here we arrived at Renggis Island!
Renggis Island was the place with the most fishes! We had a lot of fun swimming with the fishes.
After our snorkelling trip, we made our way back to our hotel room to wash up and had some instant noodles because all our energy was spent swimming in the sea.
And we went for pedicure! Our hotel has spa services like massage, manicure and pedicure.
After the pampering session, we met up with our new friends whom we met during the snorkelling trip for dinner at the nearby Chinese Tze Char restaurant. The food at the Chinese restaurant was horrible!! I will never recommend anyone to dine there. The seafood were not fresh and the cooking was bad.
There was a Malay restaurant right beside hosting live BBQ sessions so we walked over to order a plate of Grilled Squid and Prawns. SUPERB!!!! If you’re there and come across a Chinese restaurant and Malay restaurant side by side, you may wish to try the Malay one instead.
Grilled Prawns were super fresh and sweet! Thumbs up for this!
Watch our video here where we got to swim with the fishes in the blue waters! Thank you for reading my Tioman Snorkeling blog entry. 🙂

Hi Kel,
January 5, 2016 at 9:06 pmI have been passing through your blog and it inspires me a lot.
now I have a question about airbnb is it safe to use? Like I prefer to use it rather than booking a hotel how do you advice me?
Hi Vivian,
Thank you for your comment. Airbnb can be very subjective so it is definitely best to do your research. Check out the reviews and ratings of the place. For example, I will not choose a place where there are ZERO reviews or with cancelled stays. This is to ensure nothing goes wrong when I’m there. I wouldn’t want to be stranded there. You also gotta make sure the reviews are authentic, from different people, the way they type, etc. I’ve used Airbnb for more than 4 years now and I haven’t had much problems except for 1 incident.
Good luck and stay safe!! xx

April 25, 2016 at 11:48 amBasically.. May I know how much you spent for your trip to Tioman? Thank you!
Hi Dee,
I cannot remember the exact amount but I think it’s around 600-700 for 2 people including the bus transportation (60+ per person x 2) from Singapore to Mersing, ferry ride from Mersing to Tioman, the hotel stay, food and snorkelling activities. Hope this helps!
